Re: Sidecar

Curtis, many thanks and the same to you... Hope it’s not too cold up there.

BTW, there is some stuff on pedal drives over in Sailing Anarchy for those interested:

Re: Sidecar

Apologies for not reporting in sooner/more often but life has had me otherwise occupied. Spring/early summer is always busy here... lambing, garden planting, grass mowing/slashing, catching up with 3 years of maintenance neglect after the build etc on top of which I have been suffering from low grad...

Pure & Wild

Found this quote from Russell Brown over in Sailing Anarchy, dated Wednesday 06 December 2017: "It's at my shop getting stretched four feet. Today was the first day of chopping and grinding. Gonna be a different boat and hopefully be what it should have been in the first place." Looking forward to f...

Re: 'Atlantic Six'

Marco, I am not sure how you are going to manage all this in wet weather gear and life jacket or highly buoyant dry suit in very windy & wavey conditions without suffering hypothermia and exhaustion or worse..... Try swimming around with all your gear on sometime. It isn't clear from the information...

Re: New 34' performance proa for sale

If it is a half decent trailer.... It's definitely a bargain!

Take it for a test sail?

Go for it Curtis... You know you want to.......

Re: New 34' performance proa for sale

Ryan, Most of my contacts are on the wrong side of the Pacific to be of any use...... But for any US or Canadian Proa sailor wannabees, subject to condition and outboard arrangements, I reckon it is a bargain. A look at the CLC website will tell you that a Madness kit plus rig, motor etc will cost y...

Re: New 34' performance proa for sale

Ryan,

Really nice boat... I particularly like the spray steps on the vaka, and the use of a Melges 24 rig is very economical, plenty of second hand sails about.... But could look a bit squat on a 34 footer.

How much is he asking?

Coming thick and fast now:

For crowded Sydney Harbour type racing, the carnage and injuries from collisions and capsizes and pitch poles will be interesting. 18ft skiffs are bad enough.....
